MCStat is our platform for Minecraft server and player statistics. It follows servers continuously, so instead of a single "players online" number you can see how a server has grown or emptied over time. It also keeps player histories, leaderboards and an archive of skins and capes, and its data is available through a public API.
For players and server owners
- Server tracking. Search and filter servers by name, tag, version, country and activity. Every server has a chart of its player count over time.
- Player profiles. Session history, the servers a player has joined, and an archive of their skins and capes.
- Leaderboards ranked by session time, the variety of servers played, and activity.
Server owners use it to watch their own numbers and uptime. Players use it to compare servers before committing time to one.
Why history matters
A snapshot of how many people are online right now says very little. A server with 200 players today might have had 2,000 last month, or 20. Because MCStat polls servers all the time, the trend is visible, and that is usually what you actually want to know.
The same thinking is behind the skin archive. Skins change, and once a player replaces one, the old version is gone from Mojang's servers. MCStat keeps it.
The public API
Developers can use MCStat's data in their own projects. The server search and server detail endpoints are documented at mcstat.org/api-docs and are free to use.
Frequently asked questions
How often are servers checked?
Continuously. That is what makes the history charts meaningful.
Can I add my own server?
Yes. Once listed, it is tracked like every other server and gets the same history and leaderboard features.
Is the API free?
Yes. The server search and server detail endpoints are public and documented.
You can explore servers and leaderboards at mcstat.org.
