The spacecraft named "Odysseus", sent into space on a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket as part of the "IM-1" mission of the US-based Intuitive Machines company, landed on the Moon for the first time in 50 years.
Odysseus took a wide field of view of the Schomberger crater on the Moon at a site far from the planned landing site.
"On February 22, 2024, Intuitive Machines' Odysseus lunar lander captured a wide field-of-view image of Schomberger crater on the Moon at an altitude of about 10 km, about 200 km from the planned landing site," Intuitive Machines said in a statement about the image.
Intuitive Machines officials also made a statement about the landing of the Odysseus spacecraft on the Moon and its latest status.
"Odysseus is alive and well. Flight controllers are communicating and commanding the lander to download science data. The lander's telemetry and solar charging are in good condition."
