Productive artificial intelligence has touched all of our lives in some way, especially with its rapid growth over the past year. However, as previously mentioned, productive AI and large language models (LLMs) require immense processing power. NVIDIA has even shifted its focus to developing GPUs specifically for AI due to this demand.

In a report by The Information, Microsoft and its investor OpenAI are aiming to construct the most expensive data center and supercomputer in history. Allegedly, the project's magnitude will reach $100 billion. To put this figure into perspective for the tech world, OpenAI's estimated valuation is around $80 billion.

Stargate AI is Set to be Operational by 2028.

It's stated that Microsoft, already the world's most valuable company by market capitalization, will bear a significant portion of the project's financial burden. The project, slated for completion in 2028, will unsurprisingly take place in the United States. While no information is available about the specifics of the supercomputer named Stargate AI, it could potentially become the world's most powerful upon activation.

Microsoft is currently developing a supercomputer for OpenAI, set to be operational by 2026. Stargate AI will be a part of the company's long-term plans. Microsoft having its own massive data center for artificial intelligence will reduce its hardware dependency and strengthen its relationship with OpenAI. Therefore, in this case, it will be a win-win situation for the company.
