According to official announcements made on the chat application's blog page, Discord will allow developers to add new games and applications to the previously limited selection available in the Events section starting from March 18th. These developments aim to expand the platform's reach and enable developers to build a gaming and application community on Discord.

Discord Game and App Developers

If you're a Discord user, you might have already experienced features like playing mini-games such as YouTube, Gartic Phone, and Land-io with your friends through the Events section. Starting from March 18th, developers will be able to add new games and applications specifically for the platform. Just like before, these newly added games will open in an embedded window within Discord.

Discord stated, "Many Discord developers have been eyeing Events, wondering when they'll be able to develop their own applications. Starting from March 18th, Discord developers can use the Embedded App SDK to directly create new games and experiences that can be played on the platform." Discord aims to provide a broader range of activities, allowing people to find friends and exchange information more easily on the platform.

Moreover, users will be able to add these applications to their accounts and carry them over to different servers, potentially making the applications more popular. Additionally, Discord announced that it could provide funding of up to $30,000 to developers with prototype application ideas. With these announcements, it's evident that the platform aims to enable everything to be done within the application and wants users to engage more actively with games and applications on Discord.
